The new Rio is powered by an efficient 1.6-liter inline-four cylinder engine with 138 horsepower and 123 pound feet of torque. This engine achieves 38 miles per gallon highway and 27 city. Two transmissions are offered, a six-speed manual transmission and a six-speed automatic. To bring the 2016 Kia Rio to a stop are 4-wheel disc brakes with antilock braking system.Â
